The coronavirus lockdown has comfortably cooped most of us at home. At the other end of the spectrum, however, a majority of Indians are struggling to make ends meet. These include marginalised communities in the unorganised sector, such as daily wagers, street vendors, construction workers, and laborers, who are terribly affected by the economic and social repercussions of the coronavirus.
Our aim is to reach out to such people. We will coordinate with few partners and work closely with government authorities with due permissions and approvals.
With this aim Raise India Foundation started their campaign while distributing first with Sanitization kit followed by Ration Kits to our Shikshalaya Families. These all families are Daily Wages workers who are either E-Rickshaw driver, or Rickshaw pullers or housemaid. This ration kit contains 5 KG Aata 5 kg Rice 1 Kg Dal 2 Kg Potatoes 2 Kg Onions.
This whole event was conducted in presence of Delhi Police while taking all precautionary measures. We gave them awareness talk as well regarding preventive measures against Corona Virus.
