Every year, Diwali brings us joy and happiness. We wanted to bring smiles on the face of people who have not been able to celebrate Diwali since years. With this thought, we have come up with a campaign called Khushiyo ki Potli, where we distributes these potli’s to roadside night shelters, so that they could also enjoy this festival.

Dignity Kit Distribution

Dry Ration Kit Distribution

At the beginning of every session, all the students studying at our Shikshalya receive school kits containing books, notebooks, art supplies, stationery, shoes, water bottle, school bag and other classroom essentials. Distributing these kits ensures that every child has access to the necessary tools required for learning, reducing the disparities that can arise for the children coming from economically weaker background. Having their own stationery kits, motivates students to attend classes regularly and fosters a sense of belonging that positively impacts their self-esteem. In financial year 2022-2023, we distributed stationery kits twice in all our learning centers.

Incorporating stationery kit distribution as a regular practice at our Shikshalya has not only addressed the practical needs of our students but has also contributed to the overall positive atmosphere and growth of our educational programs. The idea behind distribution of these kits is to send a strong message that education is accessible and valuable for every child, regardless of their background.

In 2023, heavy rainfall with the arrival of monsoon resulted in severe flooding and landslides across Northern India. A monsoon surge, coupled with a western disturbance  led to the highest rainfall in decades in some parts of the region, causing nearby rivers to overflow, with flooding and landslides washing away vehicles, destroying bridges and roads, and disrupting livelihood of people living at river coasts.

Thousands of people displaced from low lying areas in Delhi, were living in rescue shelters without proper arrangements. Our team visited the affected areas and provided the flood victims with food, clean drinking water, and other basic necessities. Our work did not stop there, once the monsoons subsided, we made sure that the victims were well taken care of. Those who lost their homes and livelihood in the flood needed our support not only physically, but mentally. We distributed ration kits, sanitary kits and mosquito repellents time and again. We also distributed toys and gifts to uplift their morale and help them get their lives back.
