During the unprecedented COVID-19 pandemic, Raise India Foundation implemented a range of initiatives to support vulnerable communities. From providing Dry Ration Kits and nutritious meals to daily wage earners to launching the E-Shikshalay project for online education, we addressed critical needs. Our "Chhupi Todo – Sharm Nahi Samman" campaign promoted menstrual hygiene, while Project Arogya focused on public health. Additionally, we ensured the safety of vaccination centers through thorough sanitization efforts. Our comprehensive response aimed to uplift and empower those affected by the crisis.

First National 21-day Lockdown

During the unprecedented 21-day national lockdown, the Raise India Foundation stepped up to assist daily wage earners who found themselves without work. Recognizing the urgent need, we provided Dry Ration Kits to families of children attending our Shikshalaya centers. These kits, comprising essentials like Atta, Rice, Dal, Potatoes, and Onions, aimed to sustain them through the lockdown period.

On the occasion of Ram Navami, we launched the "Khana Khilao Punya Kamao" campaign to support daily wage earners. Initially targeting 500 individuals daily, the campaign quickly expanded, providing thousands of meals during the entire lockdown period. Our diverse menu ensured that recipients received varied and nutritious meals, ranging from poori subzi to chhole bhature.

E-Shikshalaya Project
E-Shikshalaya Project

Understanding the digital divide exacerbated by the pandemic, we initiated the "E-Shikshalaya" project to make online education accessible to underprivileged children. Through this project, we distributed tablet phones and facilitated necessary arrangements for students attending our Shikshalaya centers. We aim to ensure that every child continues their education, regardless of the challenges posed by the pandemic.

Highlighting the importance of menstrual hygiene, we launched the "Chhupi Todo – Sharm Nahi Samman" campaign at industrial construction sites in Delhi and NCR. Through workshops and the distribution of Dignity Kits, we aimed to educate and empower female construction workers. Each kit contained sanitary pads, undergarments, soap, and towels, emphasizing the right of every girl to manage her period safely and with dignity.

In our commitment to public health, we distributed Sanitization Kits to children and families associated with our Shikshalaya centers. These kits, comprising masks, hand sanitizers, and hand wash bottles, aimed to raise awareness about COVID-19 and promote preventive measures. Additionally, we distributed PPE Kits to ambulance drivers at Government Sadar Hospital, Samastipur, Bihar.

Expanding our reach beyond immediate community support, Raise India Foundation took proactive steps to contribute to the broader public health effort. As vaccination centers emerged as critical hubs in the fight against COVID-19, we recognized the importance of ensuring their safety and hygiene. In collaboration with local health authorities, we undertook the task of sanitizing vaccination centers across our operational areas.
