At Raise India Foundation, women empowerment isn't just a buzzword; it's a fundamental aspect of our mission. While we prioritize educating women about their health and rights through initiatives like "Chuppi Todo," we go a step further by creating tangible opportunities for economic empowerment.
During our interactions with students at Shikshalaya, we discovered a stark reality: 85% of them reported that their fathers worked as laborers, while their mothers remained homemakers. This insight served as a catalyst for us to address the economic disparity faced by these women and to empower them to earn their own livelihoods.

We embarked on a journey to leverage the skills of these women and provide them with meaningful employment opportunities. Recognizing the environmental impact of plastic and the need for sustainable alternatives, we initiated a project to produce handcrafted bags. These bags not only served as a source of income for the women but also contributed to reducing plastic usage in the community.

Our approach was simple yet effective. We facilitated a partnership between the women producing the bags and local vendors interested in selling eco-friendly products. Acting as a mediator, we ensured a fair exchange where the revenue generated from selling the bags was directly invested back into the hands of the women who crafted them.

The impact of this initiative extended far beyond economic empowerment. By providing women with the means to earn their own income, we helped them gain autonomy and self-reliance. Moreover, the production of eco-friendly bags contributed to environmental sustainability, aligning with our broader goal of creating positive change in the community.

Our commitment to women's empowerment remains unwavering. As we continue on this journey, we strive to expand opportunities for women to thrive economically, socially, and personally. By nurturing their talents, providing resources, and fostering collaboration, we aim to build a future where every woman has the power to shape her destiny and contribute meaningfully to her community.
